10 MISTAKES TO AVOID IN  CAMPUS

You bagged that high school certificate. After hours and hours of studying, You aced it and  got admitted to the university of your dreams .You want a smooth sailing campus experience?. You're at the right place. You're headed for an amazing campus experience if you avoid these mistakes. Read along to get those tips.

1. Not studying

Let's start with this one because its the primary thing you came to campus to do.

I know this sounds like a statement from that "boring" teacher in primary school😂😂 but fact is , that's your main business in school. Take that seemingly boring advice and make studying your main activity in school.

Do your assignments on time  in campus. Ignoring your studies is a mistake you want to avoid. Avoid skipping of classes because you will end up missing on one on one knowledge from your professors.. 

2. Academic Cheating

It may look tempting . But you made it in high school without cheating. All brains ,how cool is that👌👍 You can study hard in campus too . Remember that cheating is punishable severely which may lead you to get expelled. Avoid "mwakenyas" like plaque.

Put in a few  hours of study  everyday and you will never fall into that temptation. Furthermore, the feeling that comes with knowing you worked for that degree with integrity brings such a sense of pride

3. Not joining clubs

Work without play makes jack a dull boy. Play just like work is equally important. Take time to unwind ,the way you know how.

Clubs in campus organize outings from time to time so you can take advantage. Hikes and outings will help you relax and unwind.

Also if its that  singing interest that you got , hone  your skill by joining the music club. There are actually quite a number of useful clubs in campus.

Clubs are also a good place to socialize and spend quality time doing useful things like polishing your talent.

4. Living like an island and failure to make connections

Schools ,beside campus form part of your social world and social reality. They provide you with the social capital which you require for social survival..Many people have made life long friendships from campus who later in life come through for them .So can you.

However,Finding the right clique in campo can be quite a task because of the heterogeneity of the population. A good way of making  friends is finding like minded individuals. You can join religious clubs like SDA  and Christian union to find people with the same religious  beliefs as you. Avoid the mistake of living in solitude in campus.

5. Avoiding routine

One of the ways to be successful is preparing for success. Successful people have outlined to making their bed first thing in the morning and getting up early as part of  that. Jump into that bandwagon and other habits like planning your day and your goals for the week. This will keep you on your toes and prepare you for future life. Routines will also help you in maintaining that school  and life balance.

 You can diversify that by incorporating  a skin care routine and physical exercise and any other useful routines. 

6. Not budgeting

I know you have heard this a gazillion times.

There are a lot of formulas available online on how to budget.

Budget with what money, you may wonder? That HELB upkeep, or that cash you get after hustling your parents ,or an auntie or uncle, whatever cash you get don't make the mistake of spending it without budgeting .A good budget will ensure you do not deplete your cash before the stipulated time.

8. Not volunteering

Volunteering is a good way to you build up on your CV and develop necessary skulls for your future job hunting phase after university. It will also keep you away from the many pressures of campus life.

9. Unproductivity

Use your free time to find work.

The worst mistake to avoid in campus is unproductivity.

Your local campus environs can be a place to find those odd jobs for extra income. If you're good at braiding hair for example salons need that extra labour. The mistake many university students make is sitting on their skills. Even that crocheting skill you have, someone is looking and willing to pay for it!

You can also look into online  work. A lot of people and companies are paying for skills such as yours online. The skills you're garnering professionally in campus, You will be surprised that you can start earning early from the professional knowledge you are garnering in campus. 10. Campus relationships and romance?

This is murky waters. I put it last for that same reason. 

There are successful relationships birthed from campus. Haven't you heard of people that married their campus sweetheart?

That campus boyfriend, campus girlfriend, that date ? Do you really wanna go for it?

We all do that which works for us. So like a free spirit I'd say  follow your heart.

There are  people that met the love of their life in campus and others have been left severely heartbroken.
